A Taste of EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival

Beginning March 3, EPCOT’s annual Flower & Garden Festival is set to include the return of numerous beautiful flower and topiary displays, but also activities for the family, culinary delights at 18 outdoor kitchens and additional food locations, live entertainment, and of course, new festival merchandise.

New Attractions

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has two of the newest Disney World Attractions to open prior to the pandemic. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a family-friendly train ride through a series of cartoon adventures with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy as the train conductor. Also at Hollywood Studios in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the new immersive Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction. Also expected to open soon at EPCOT is the anticipated dark ride based on the 2007 aminated film, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

New Restaurants

In early 2020, few new restaurants also opened at EPCOT that you may not have tried yet. First, in the American Adventure pavilion, Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts and Barbeque, a quick service restaurant with a menu focused on craft beers and American barbeque favorites. In the nearby Japan pavilion, Takumi Tei, a fine or signature dining option with a menu focused on Japanese and Asian cuisine, is unfortunately temporarily unavailable, but we hope will soon reopen as another Disney dining option for EPCOT guests.

New Transportation

Taking a ride on the Disney Skyliner gondola system which opened in the Fall of 2019 is must do for returning Disney World guests. The state-of-the-art gondola system transports guests between Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, as well as Riviera, Art of Animation, Pop Century, and Caribbean Beach. It is a convenient and relaxing way of transport on the Disney property. It is also a good place to catch the sunset after a day at the parks.

New Merchandise

Spring Break 2021 Disney merchandise is all about pastel yellow and retro Walt Disney World designs. Matching pastel yellow Minnie Mouse ears with vibrant blue and red flowers were also recently released. Raya and the Last Dragon, the newest Disney animated film premiering March 5, merchandise has also made its way the shelves this Spring at Disney. The most popular Disney Spring merchandise, however, is nuiMOs. The new plush line once only available in Japan, now available at Disney World. Nuimos are small, cute characters you can style in a ever growing variety of stylish outfits perfect for sharing on social media platforms like Instagram.

Blizzard Beach Water Park

Beginning March 7, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will reopen for the first time since the pandemic. Guests should review essential information, including the health and safety measures in place to keep guests safe, before they arrive at the water park. A day at Blizzard Beach is a great way to relax and still have fun in between or after your Disney World theme park visits.

New Sweet Treats at Disney Springs

Two bakeries and one shop have opened at Disney Springs in 2021. Some say Gideon’s Bakehouse has the best cookie on Disney property. Gideon’s is a local Orlando bakehouse that offers what we consider to be amazing cookies, cakes, and specialty drinks, including the much loved peanut butter iced coffee. Know that there is a long wait for Gideon’s coveted baked goods. A few suggestions: arrive early to sign up for their virtual queue (less wait, more selection), know that there is a six-cookie maximum (yes, they’re that good), and follow them on social media for more information on wait times and daily offerings. Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew is also now open at Disney Springs across from Splitsville. Guests will find at Everglazed, as the name suggests, warm hand-made donuts in a variety of fun flavors and several cold brew concoctions. M&M’s store is the third new addition to Disney Springs in 2021. Immerse yourself in a world of colorful chocolate candy and even personalize your own M&M’s at the new Disney Springs location this Spring.
